GREENVILLE, N.C. – Lauryn Taylor scored the game-tying goal in the 80th minute as East Carolina rallied from a two-goal deficit to force a 2-2 draw against High Point on Sunday afternoon at Bill Clark Homes Field at Johnson Stadium.

Lily Ridge added a goal at the start of the second half that gave the Pirates some much needed momentum coming out of the break.

ECU moves to 0-1-3 and is still in search of its first win of the season while High Point moves to 1-2-1.

The Pirates got out to a much more aggressive start offensively than on Thursday but it was High Point that held a 2-0 lead before halftime courtesy of goals by Morgan Wilcox and Chloe Edwards.

After Ridge's goal cut the deficit to one, the Pirates continued to push the attack and knotted the game up at 2-2 on a set piece from Isabella Gutierrez to Taylor.

The Pirates and Panthers both had chances to take the lead late but solid defense and goalkeeper play prevented a go-ahead goal from either side.

Sydney Steinberg stepped in for Olivia Dietrich late in the first half, making one save and recording a clean sheet in her 47 minutes of action.
