Successfully returned from a one-year injury layoff (2015) to contribute quality depth to receiving and special teams units … Followed steady 2016 performance with a strong spring showing to earn two-deep status as the No. 2 “X” receiver (behind senior Jimmy Williams) to open the 2017 campaign … Expected to also vie for various special teams roles to enhance game-day repetitions … Did not participate in spring scrimmages for precautionary reasons (shoulder injury) … Has played in 19 career contests and recorded eight catches for 86 yards.Â
2016: Experienced action in all 12 games and made one start (Virginia Tech) … Listed as Zay Jones’ top backup most of the season and opened clash against Hokies when Jones was moved to the slot position … Targeted on 12 occasions and make seven catches for 78 yards (11.1 ypr) … Five receptions resulted in a first down … Logged three multiple-catch outings, snaring a personal-best two passes each in tilts vs. UCF, Tulsa and SMU … Turned in top yardage total (28) against the Knights … Added 26 yards vs. Golden Hurricane, vs. Mustangs and seven against USF (on one reception) … Longest single grab was a 20-yarder vs. UCF in the American Athletic Conference opener at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
2015: Could not overcome nagging shoulder injury suffered late during the spring practice period and redshirt decision was made during preseason camp (to encourage complete recovery) … Spent most of fall in rehabilitation mode.
2014:Â Played in seven contests as a member of special teams and as a reserve on the receiving corps (once late decision was made to remove redshirt) ... Made collegiate debut as a true freshman against Connecticut on Oct. 23 before following with appearances against Temple, Cincinnati, Tulane, Tulsa, UCF and Florida (Birmingham Bowl) ... Caught first career pass (eight yards) at Temple in the third quarter ... Did not record any stats against Huskies, Bearcats, Green Wave, Golden Hurricane, Knights or Gators.
High School: Caught 36 passes for 775 yards during senior season – averaging 21.5 yards per reception … Guided Hanahan High School to an 11-2 overall mark and 5-0 league record in 2013 … On the receiving end of an eventual game-winning 35-yard touchdown pass to help HHS to a 28-21 win against Orangeburg-Wilkinson … Invited to the Low Country North-South All-Star game in Myrtle Beach (December, 2013) … Experienced limited action as a junior after suffering a season-ending elbow injury during a contest against Bishop England … Earned additional varsity letters in basketball during prep career, while also playing at the AAU level with the Low Country Ballers.
