Giacolone was named as Assistant Coach for East Carolina Lacrosse on May 31, 2024.
In 2025, Giacolone helped the Pirates to an overall record of 7-10 while setting a program record for American Athletic Conference wins with a 4-2 mark in league play. In so doing, the Pirates made the conference tournament where they faced South Florida. The team made a habit of playing close games on the year with eight one-goal games, nearly working their way to an even better record.
Â
The 2025 season also saw the Pirates achieve several individual honors under Giacolone guidance. Emma Magazu and Kayla Wilkes became the first ECU players ever to win player of the year honors as they were named American Defensive Player of the Year and American Midfielder of the Year, respectively. Both players were named unanimously to the All-Conference First Team while four other players earned Second-Team nods. Additionally, Magazu became just the third player in program history to earned IWLCA All-Region honors with South Region Second Team recognition while breaking Giacolone's own program record for single season caused turnovers.
Giacolone joined the Pirates coaching staff after an illustrious playing career in Purple and Gold. She finished her time on the field as the program record holder in career caused turnovers (90) and ground balls (146) in 67 games played, starting 65.Â
On the field, Giacolone was a three-time All-Conference performer and along with Caroline Kimel was one of the first two East Carolina lacrosse players named to the IWLCA All-Region team.
Native of Manorville, N.Y., Giacolone graduated from East Carolina in 2024 with a degree in Special Education Curriculum.
