Lady Pirates Lead After Round One of Tournament

Sixteen teams are participating in this second annual fall tournament hosted by East Carolina. The Pirates lead all teams after the first round with a score of 296, 12 strokes over par. Western Carolina is in second place, nine strokes off the Pirate lead.
Rebecca Twiner of Western Carolina leads all golfers with a one round score of 69 (33-36), while East Carolina's Margaret Mitchell is in second place having shot 72 (33-39). The Pirates placed six golfers, including Alyssa Hayes who is playing individually, in the top 20.
Round two began at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon and will conclude sometime late afternoon.
