Hauser, a senior at South Stokes High School, is from Germantown, N.C., and has been the No. 1 ranked North Carolina Junior Girl by the Carolina Golfer's Association since December of 2001.
Hauser has numerous titles to her name, and in 2002 she qualified for the U.S. Junior Girls. She was the 2002 North Carolina Junior Champion, the 2002 North Carolina Independent Insurance Agent Junior Champion, and the 2002 Eastern Junior Golf Association Tour Champion.
Hauser was also the 2002 Ballantyne Resort Junior Champion and the 2002 North Carolina High School West Regional Champion. In addition, she was a fourth place finisher at the 2002 North Carolina High School Championship.
"I feel very fortunate to have Jessica join our women's program," said Williams. "She will make an immediate impact and gives us a solid foundation for the future of our fast rising women's golf program. Jessica has a tremendous short game and is a very solid ball striker. Her consistency and competitiveness are her strongest assets. I am very excited that we have signed the number one ranked junior girl in North Carolina two of the last three years. (Adrienne Millican signed with the Pirates in 2000 and began competition with the team last season)."
In addition to being a strong competitor on the golf course, Hauser is also an outstanding student. She is currently the Beta Club President and the Student Body President at South Stokes High School. Hauser also serves as the 2002 drum major of the marching band, and has the third highest grade point average in her class.
Hauser is the only fall signee for either of the golf teams in the early signing period, which concludes tomorrow, November 20.
