
Jonathan Hill Named C-USA Golfer Of The Month

For the month of October, Hill had two top 10 finishes, and three top-25 finishes for the Pirates. He helped the team to second place finishes at both the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate and the Georgetown Hoya Invitational.
At the Adam's Cup of Newport, October 8-9, Hill took third place, shooting 214 in three rounds (71-72-71). He had the top finish for the men's team that weekend as the Pirates completed the tournament in 11th place out of 18 teams.
The following weekend, October 21-22, he helped the Pirates to a second place finish at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate. Hill shot 201 in the three-round tournament, shooting 66 in round one, 69 in round two, and 66 in round three. The 201 score put him in a tie for first place along with Eastern Kentucky's Brandon Brown. The two men competed in a playoff that last for five holes, and Hill was the eventual champion of the tournament, earning his first collegiate win. The 15 strokes under par was a Pirate Fall Intercollegiate record, and an East Carolina tournament record as well.
East Carolina competed in the Georgetown Hoya Invitational on October 27-28, earning another second-place finish. Hill shot 152 in the two-round event, which tied him for 23rd. Hill was just one stroke over par in the first round, but finished at 75, three strokes over in round two.
This fall, Hill has competed in five events for ECU for a total of 14 rounds. He has an 18-hole stroke average of 71.1, has earned three top-10finishes and three top-20 finishes. His best 18-hole score was 66, which was accomplished twice, both rounds of which were at the Pirate Fall Intercollegiate at Bradford Creek. Hill has shot four rounds under par this fall and one round at even par.
