LANDOVER, Md. -- The East Carolina women's track team kicked off its indoor season at the Maryland Invitational in Landover today.
Sophomore Shirena James took third place in the 60-meter dash (7.70), which earned her ECAC qualifying marks. She also placed third in the 200-meter dash (25.90). Sophomore Terri Davenport placed fourth in the 60 (7.81) and 200-meter dash (26.11)
Junior Nicole Marchewka jumped to second place in the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet.
"It was a really good meet for the few girls we brought up here," said head Coach Matt Munson after today's meet. "It was really low key and was a nice way to start the season, until we come back in January."
The Lady Pirates return to action January 11 at the North Carolina Collegiate Big 12 in Raleigh.
