Men's Golf Finishes First At Carolina First Intercollegiate

"This is a huge win for us," said Pirate head coach Kevin Williams. "We played very solid today under some very tough conditions. Our guys played very consistently throughout this tournament and put themselves in a position to win during the final round."
Calle Andren recorded the highest finish for ECU at one under-par, 215, to tie for seventh place. Will Pope finished the tournament at one over-par in 11th position, while Jason Harris finished tied for 29th with a four over-par, 220. Jonathan Hill and Adam Howell each finished at six over-par and tied for 34th place.
South Alabama's Ryan Gildersleeve won the individual title by shooting a nine under-par, 207.
The Pirates final tournament total of 870 was one stroke better than second place finisher Francis Marion. ECU completed the tournament at six over-par.
ECU will next compete in the Adams Cup of Newport in Newport, R.I. on Oct. 8-9.
