Lady Pirates Finish Sixth At The Lady Paladin Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The East Carolina women's golf team posted a 54-hole score 919 (306-309-304) to finish in sixth place at the Lady Paladin Intercollegiate. The tournament was being played at the par-72, 5,984-yard at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
The Pirates (57-17-1) are one of 17 teams that participated in the three day 54-hole tournament hosted by Furman University.
The University of Georgia claimed the team championship after posting a three-round score of 866 (291-283-292), which was two-over par. Tulsa finished 26 strokes behind Georgia in second place with a 892 (291-298-303), while fellow Conference USA member TCU finished third with an 899 (305-291-303).
Georgia's Natalia Nicholls posted a 54-hole 215, one-under par to claim the individual championship. TCU's Brooke Tull (72-70-74=216) and Georgia's Whitney Wade (72-68-76=216) finished tied for second.
Senior Pirate Jessica Krasny (74-79-71=224) fired a third round one-under par 71 and moved up 13 spots to finish the tournament in a tie for 12. Fellow Pirate Adrienne Millican (76-75-76=224) finished in a tie for 20th.
"I am extremely proud of the way we played today," said ECU head coach Kevin Williams. "This was a tough field and we beat some quality teams this weekend that will help us later on in the spring when the NCAA makes its selection for the tournament."
The Lady Pirates will conclude their fall schedule Nov. 3-4 when they travel to Kiawah Island, S.C., for the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate tournament.
