
Field Set For 2004 Taco Bell Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. ? The East Carolina women's golf team is set to host the 2004 Taco Bell Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C. on Oct. 11-12 at the par-72, 6, 093-yard Bradford Creek Golf Club.
The Pirates (16-10-0) won their first tournament of the season last weekend at the Beacon Woods Invitational after carding a 54-hole score of 878 to beat Coastal Carolina by five strokes. Three golfers finished in the top-15 for the Pirates and were led by junior Heidi Helliesen, who finished in third just three stokes behind individual champion Adrienne White of Louisville. Senior Adrienne Millican claimed sixth place, while freshman Emelie Lind finished 15th.
This year's tournament, formerly the Lady Pirate Fall Invitational, features 17 teams and consists of Augusta State, Birmingham-Southern, Boston College, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Elon, High Point, Longwood University, Maryland, Mercer, Methodist College, Old Dominion, Richmond, UAB, UNC Greensboro and Western Carolina.
In last year's event, Brandy Anderson of Western Carolina took home the top individual honors after posting a 54-hole score of 218, the second lowest score in the four-year tournament history. In the team portion, Mississippi State edged out ECU by one stroke with a score of 894 and snapped the Pirates three-year winning streak at the Lady Pirate Fall Invitational.
Two rounds will be played Monday with shotguns starts 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and the final round will be played on Tuesday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Live scoring will be provided to all Pirate fans by logging on at www.Golfstatlive.com.
