Women's Golf Sits In Eighth At Pinehurst Challenge

Pinehurst, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team moved up one spot to eighth place in round two action of the Pinehurst Challenge, which is being played at Pinehurst No. 8 in Pinehurst, N.C.
Freshman Lene Krog posted a four-over par 76 and is currently tied for 11th place (154) with 18 holes left to play. Fellow golfer Jamie Quinn is the other Pirate that ranks in the top-25 with a 36-hole score of 157, which is good enough for a share of 25th place.
Maryland solidified its lead, shooting a 310 to total 612 after 36 holes. Tied for second are Mississippi State, Iowa and UNC Wilmington with a 620 each, with ECU sitting seven strokes back at 627 in eighth place.
Washington State's Anastasia Kostina leads individually with a 147, after shooting a 72 in the second 18 holes.
Heidi Helliesen (158) is tied for 29th with Emelie Lind (161) and Jessica Hauser (162) sitting in a tie for 46th and 52nd respectively.
The final round will be done in a shotgun format and will begin at 9:00 AM Tuesday.
