
Harrell Earns Fourth Pitcher-Of-The-Week Accolade Of 2006

IRVING, Texas - The weekly Conference USA softball honors went to the league's Preseason Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively as East Carolina junior Keli Harrell secured her fourth pitching accolade, while Marshall sophomore Rachel Folden garnered her second hitting award of the season .
Harrell won both extra-inning affairs in the Southern Miss series as the Pirates swept the Golden Eagles in a crucial C-USA set. The wins were the junior's 21st and 22nd of the season as she allowed just one earned run and seven hits in 15.1 innings of work in the two contests. Harrell fanned 10 in nine innings of work in game two, then struck out five in 6.1 innings of relief in game three. The double-digit strikeout effort in game two was her eighth of the season.
Folden tied the C-USA single-season record for home runs with her 18th of the season in Marshall's 3-1 series-clinching win over Memphis. For the series, Folden went 7-for-11 (.636) with three runs scored and four RBI. After a 3-for-5 effort with three RBI in a game-one victory, the sophomore All-American went 2-for-3, respectively, in games two and three. Folden increased her league-leading RBI total to 54.
