
Lind Named C-USA Golfer-of-the-Week

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina senior Emelie Lind was named Conference USA Women's Golfer-of-the-Week after posting her first collegiate victory at the UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic league officials announced today.
The Kungsangen, Sweden native recorded a one-under par 141 (70-71), ranking first in the field in par-5 scoring (-5) and collecting a tournament-best nine birdies. It was her third career top 10 finish and second top 20 placement of the season.
Lind helped the Pirates capture the team title, their second win of the season, with a score of 583. In the opening round, the Pirates carded a school-record 284 and held a 15-shot advantage heading into the final round on Tuesday where they carded a 299.
This is the first weekly honor for Lind and she is the second Lady Pirate to be named C-USA Golfer-of-the-Week following Abby Bools (Sept. 26).
Earlier in the week the Pirates made their third consecutive appearance in the Golfweek national rankings by moving up one spot to No. 22. ECU first appeared in the top 25 on Oct. 3 when they garnered a No. 20 ranking.
ECU (27-14-0) returns to action on Monday, Oct. 29 when they travel south to participate in the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C.
