GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team currently holds a nine-stroke lead over Kansas State when the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate was called due to darkness. The event, which is being played at the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C., will resume Tuesday morning with an 8:30 shotgun start. Third round action will follow immediately after the conclusion of the second round.
The Pirates (17-14) carded a first round score of 308 and took a one-shot lead over Kansas State (309). Rounding out the top five were East Tennessee State (311), Maryland (313) and Baylor (313).
Senior Emelie Lind carried her hot play over from the Starmount Classic after she recorded a first round score of 75 (three-over par) for a share of sixth place. When play was called in the second round, Lind was in a three-way tie for second place.
When play was stopped, Amber Littman was tenth, Abby Bools was tied for 11th, Ana Maria was tied for 19th and freshman Colleen Estes claimed a share of 40th.
