WALLACE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team fired rounds of 291 and 304 Monday and currently sit in second place at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Invitational and trail host school UNC Wilmington by eight shots.
Sophomore Lene Krog paced the Pirates (52-42-3) after carding a 36-hole score of 144 (69-75) for sole possession of third place. Fellow underclassman Abby Bools (70-78=148) is tied for fifth place, while senior Jessica Hauser (75-74=149) is tied for tenth. Emelie Lind (154) and Ana Marie Puche (156) are currently tied for 25th and 32nd.
The Seahawks (587) head into final round action with an eight shot lead over the Pirates (595) after a posting a school-record 284 on the second round of competition. Atlantic Coast Conference member Maryland rounds out the top three with a 25-over par score of 601 (307-294).
In the individual portion of the event, UNCW occupies the top spot with Carmen Perez-Narbon (76-66) and Emily Klein (71-71) each sitting in first place.
Final round action will begin Tuesday morning with a shutgun start at 9 a.m.
