
Lady Pirate Golf In Second Place With 18 To Play

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - The East Carolina women's golf team fired a three-over par 291 and currently sit in second place at the 2007 John Kirk/Lady Panther Invitational entering the final round of the 36-hole tournament at Eagle's Landing Country Club.
The Pirates (64-44-3) used a pair of three-under par rounds by sophomore Lene Krog (35-34) and junior Emelie Lind (34-35), who are both tied for third place. Freshman Ana Maria Puche (38-38=76) is tiled for 26th, while classmate Abby Bools (41-36=77) is tied for 41st. Jessica Hauser rounds out the squad with a 80 (39-41) for a share of 66th.
Maryland was the only team to shoot under par finishing 5-under with a 283 total. Defending medalist, Stacey Tate of Memphis is in great position to repeat as champion after opening with a 68. Jacksonville State's Manuela Tarazona is tied with Tate for the top spot after firing a 68 in the first round.
The final round of the John Kirk/Lady Panther Invitational will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. State will start on the back nine along with Arkansas State and Western Carolina.
