Littman In Third At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Sophomore Amber Littman fired an opening round of 74, two-over par, and currently sits in a tie for third place at the Women's Landfall Tradition. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,117-yard Ocean Course at Landfall.
The Stoney Creek, N.C. native recorded birdies on holes 7, 10 and 13 paring 10 of the remaining 15 holes. Junior Abby Bools struggled with an opening round 78, six-over par, and current sits six shots off the lead in a share of 17th place.
Ana Maria Puche is two shots behind Bools with a round of 80, eight-over par, and is tied for 26th. Rounding out ECU's squad is sophomore Colleen Estes (86), who is tied for 53rd and freshman Amy Otteson shares 57th place after carding an 88.
The Pirates, who shot an opening round 318, currently sit in sixth place 13 shots out of third. Wake Forest leads the event after 18-holes with a 297 and carries a six-shot lead over Ohio State heading into Saturday's second round action. North Carolina (17-over) sits in third, followed by Florida (19-over) and Northwestern (27-over) rounding out the top-five.
Wake Forest's Natalie Sheary currently sits in first place after her even par round of 72 to kick off the event. She leads Ohio State's Vicky Villanueva (73) by one stroke, while five golfers, including Littman are all tied for third just two strokes off the lead.
Second round action is scheduled to start at 8:17 a.m. on Saturday.
