
Littman Still In Hunt At LandFall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Amber Littman continued her stellar play at the 2008 Women's Landfall Tradition Saturday after posting her second consecutive round of 74, two-over par, and currently sits in a tie for third place with 18 holes remaining. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,117-yard Ocean Course at Landfall.
Littman, who sits three shots of the lead heading into Sunday's action, posted a front nine 37 with birdies on No. 4 ad No. 8 and carded a back nine 37 with a eight pars and one bogey.
After posting an opening round of 78, Abby Bools, who is tied for 14, bettered her score by four shots from day one with a second round score of 74 (35-39). The Hickory, N.C. native posted a one-under par front nine (35), but struggled on the back after bogeying holes 11 thru 13 to finish with a 39.
Junior Ana Maria Puche carded a second round score of 82 and currently is tied for 44th with a 36-hole score of 162 (80-82), which is 18-over par. Colleen Estes (162) fired a 78 on Saturday and is tied for 46th after registering 12 pars on the day. Rounding out the Pirates' squad is freshman Amy Otteson, who carded an 87 and is 57th with a tournament score of 175.
As a team, the Pirates bettered their first round score by 10 strokes shooting a 308 and currently sits in seventh place with a two-day score of 626. No. 12 Wake Forest continues to lead the event and holds a 23 shot lead over No. 10 North Carolina (608) and a 24 stroke advantage over No. 14 Ohio State (609)
A pair of Wake Forest golfers sit atop the leader board with Cheyenne Woods leading the way with a one-over par 146. Natalie Sheary, who lead after round one, is in second with a three-over par 147, while Dolores White (Wake Forest) is tied for third with Littman at 148.
Final round action will start Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
