
ECU Moves Up To Second At Pinehurst Challenge

PINEHURST, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team posted a second round score of 302 and currently sits in second place with one round to go at the Pinehurst Challenge. The event is being held at the par-72, 5,968-yard No. 8 Pinehurst Golf Club.
The Pirates (70-14-0) entered second round play tied for third place and was able to leap Tennessee-Chattanooga and UNC-Greensboro and currently sits four strokes behind tournament leader East Tennessee State (307-304-=611).
ECU's Emelie Lind is one of three Pirate golfers that are sitting in the top-15 heading into third round action. Lind, who carded a two-over par 74 on Monday, is tied for third place with a 36-hole score of 149, which is one shot off the lead. Colleen Estes (78-76) and Ana Maria Puche (78-76) are tied for 14th at 154. Sophomore Abby Bools is tied for 35th with a 158 (82-76), while Amber Littman is tied for 44th at 160 (84-76).
Charleston's Steffi Kirchmayr and East Tennessee State's Laura Jansone are tied for first at 148, while Emma deGroot (Chattanooga) and Lucy Gould (ETSU) are tied with Lind in third.
Final round action will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
