Bools Misses Cut At U.S. Amateur Open

EUGENE, Ore. - East Carolina junior golfer Abby Bools carded a second round 80 narrowly missing the cut at the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship by one stroke. The event is being played at the 6,484-yard, par-72 Eugene Country Club.
Bools, the 2008 Conference USA Golfer-of-the-Year and two-time scholar All-American, finished the event with a two-day score of 153 (73-80) missing the playoff for final match-play by one stroke.
The Hickory, N.C. native bettered her 2007 U.S. Amateur Open score by five strokes where she finished tied for 113th after carding a 158 (76-82).
Amanda Blumenherst (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Stephanie (Australia) both finished at 4-under 140 to share medalist honors following Tuesday's second round of stroke play.
