
East Carolina Tied For Fifth After Two Rounds

Kiawah Island, S.C. -The East Carolina women's golf team fired an opening round 295 and a second round score of 303 and is currently tied for fifth place after 36 holes of the 2009 Palmetto Intercollegiate being held Oct. 26-27 at the Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.
East Tennessee State (583) holds a three shot lead over Maryland (586), while Campell (591) is in third followed by Kennesaw State (594). Rounding out the top five are the Pirates and Georgia State who both have a 598 heading into the third and final round which starts at 9:00 a.m.
Leading for individual medalist honors is Terrapin Jessie Hollandsworth, who shot a 69 and a 68 in two rounds to total a 137 and lead ETSU's Sinead O'Sullivan by six strokes in second.
Abby Bools (Hickory, N.C.) and Amy Otteson (Wilson, N.C.) lead the Pirates and are tied for 16th at 148. Ana Maria Puche (Barranquilla, Colombia) is tied for 22nd with a 149, while Amber Littman (Stoney Creek, N.C.) is tied for 43rd after a 154 on the day. Junior Colleen Estes rounds out the Pirates squad in 76th place with a score of 160.
The third round is a shotgun format and will start at 9 a.m.
