GLENVIEW, Ill. - Senior Abby Bools carded rounds of 76 and 75 for a 36-hole score of 151 and currently sits in a tie for 40th with one round remaining at the 2009 Windy City Collegiate Championship. The event is being played at the par-72, 6-539-yard Glen Club.
The Pirates (11-5) struggled early with rounds of 306 and 307 and are in 14th place with a 37-over par 613. Fourteenth-ranked Purdue leads the tournament with a 12-under par 564 (279-285) and holds an 18-shot lead over second place Arizona (582). New Mexico (583), Tulane (584) and host school Northwestern (588) round out the top five.
Junior Colleen Estes (76-78) and Freshman Meghan Moore (77-77) are tied for 54th with scores of 154. Estes posted 23 pars and a pair of birdies on Monday, while Moore recorded 22 pars and three birdies.
Rounding out the Pirates squad are Ana Maria Puche (77-78=155) and Amber Littman (79-77=156) who are tied for 62nd and 64th.
Purdue's Maude-Aimee LeBlanc fired rounds of 68 and 68 and leads the event with a seven-under par 137. Fellow Boilermaker Junthima Gulyanamitta (71-70=141) is four shots behind in second, while Min Yean Tan (Michigan) and Annie Brophy (Notre Dame) are tied for third at two-under par.
The final round of the 2009 Windy City Collegiate Classic gets underway at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with teams teeing off from either the first or 10th hole. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
