
Women's Golf Inks Two In Early Signing Period

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina Head Women's Golf Coach Kevin Williams has announced that Andrea Estes and Fanny Wolte have each signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf for the Pirates during the 2010-11 season.
"We are very pleased with this recruiting class," said Williams. "We were able to sign two very athletic and academically successful student-athletes. We are very excited about the potential impact this class will have on our program."
Andrea Estes - Green Hope HS (Cary, N.C.)
Three-time letter winner for head coach Dona Lerner ... Earned N.C. State 4A All-Regional honors as a junior (2009) ... Two-time Tri-Nine All-Conference player (2008-09) ... Three-time team captain for the Falcons ... Named 2009 Tarheel Golf Foundation Player-of-the-Year ... Helped Falcons to a seventh place finish at the 2009 NCHSAA 4A Championships with a team score of 525 (256-269) ... Finished tied for 21st at the 2009 NCHSAA 4A Championships with a 36-hole score of 169 (82-87) ... Led the Falcons to a third place finish at the 2009 East Regionals and finished 10th with an 18-hole score of 84 ... Helped Green Hope to a second place finish at the Tri-Nine 4A Conference Championships (2009) ... Finished in a tie for second at the 2009 Tri-Nine 4A Golf Championships after carding a 37 ... Member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society (President) and the Green Hope Future Teachers of America Club.

Fanny Wolte - Graz Monsbergergasse (Graz, Austria)
Claimed medalist honors at the 2009 International Austrian Ladies Amateur Championship ... Finished second at the 2009 National Austrian Ladies Amateur Championship ... In 2007 finished third at the European Young Masters ... Finished fifth at the 2008 Sherry Cup (Sotogrande) ... Shot a 153 (76-77) at the 2009 Ladies European Tour UNIQA Ladies Golf Open which was held at the Fohrenwald Golf Club in Neustadt, Austria narrowly missing the cut by four strokes ... Also participated in the 2007 Ladies European Tour UNIQA Ladies Golf Open ... Participated in the 2007 Girls Junior Orange Bowl Championships where she finished tied for 19th with a 72-hole score of 300 (77-76-71-76), which included seven birdies and 44 pars ... Helped Austria to a 12th place finish at the 2007 European Girls Team Championship posting a 148 (73-75) in the qualification rounds, where she finished tied for 13th ... Picked up a point for Austria in Match Play after defeating Scotland's Carly Booth 3 to 2 ... Qualified for the 2007 and 2009 Ladies British Amateur Championships ... Participated in the 2007 Doral-Publix Junior Golf Classic posting a 54-hole score of 237 (79-81-77).
Coach Williams' Comments: "Fanny is a wonderfully talented golfer with international experience. She has a well rounded game and her tournament success in Austria and Europe will help her make a quick adjustment and impact in our program. She has been playing against and beating a lot of current college players and we are excited about her joining our program."
The Pirates finished the fall season with a 39-39 record which included a pair of top-5 finishes in their last two events and will be back on the course Feb. 21-23 when they participate in the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.
