IRVING, Texas - East Carolina junior golfer Ana Maria Puche was named Conference USA Golfer-of-the-Week after posting a career-best finish of second place at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational.
Puche, who is a two-time C-USA weekly award recipient, recorded an even par 54-hole score of 216 (71-74-71) at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational to finish in second-place in the 80-plus field of participants. The junior's score of 216 is tied for the fifth lowest 54-hole score in school history and her finish marks her fourth-top six finish of the season.
The Pirates will be back in action on March 23 when they participate in the UNCW/ Lady Seahawk Intercollegiate.
