Tulsa, Okla. - No. 37 East Carolina posted rounds of 321 and 319 on Monday and currently sits in third place at the 2009 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships which are being held at the Tulsa Country Club.
The Pirates (640) are seven strokes behind tournament leader No. 33 Tulane (317-316=633) and just one shot behind UCF (318-321=639). Host school Tulsa (328-322=650) is in fourth 10 strokes behind ECU, while UTEP (339-317=656) rounds out the top five.
Tulane's Daniela Holmqvist (149) leads the 50-man field and holds a five shot advantage over Shara Elliot (154) of Tulsa. Rounding out the top five are UTEP's Teresa Nogues (155) and UCF's Elisa Aoki (156) of UCF is fourth, while Amber Littman (158) and SMU's Kate Ackerson (158) are tied for fifth.
The remaining Pirates squad consists of Ana Maria Puche (161/ 7th), Abby Bools and Colleen Estes are tied for 10th with tournament scores of 162 and freshman Amy Otteson (166/ 22nd).
Final round action will take place Tuesday morning with split tee times starting at 9 a.m. (EDT).
