
Women's Golf Set To Open Fall Season

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2009 season Friday, Sept. 18 when they participate in the 38th Lady Paladin Invitational Golf Tournament, which is hosted by Furman University. The event will be played at the par-72, 6,199-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
ECU, rated No. 42 in last season's final Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, will be joined in the 17-team field by Campbell (No. 58), East Tennessee State (No. 62), Florida International (No. 56), Furman (No. 46), James Madison (No. 96), Kennesaw State, Memphis, Mercer, UNC Greensboro (No. 94), UNC Wilmington (No. 67), 2008 Division II National Champion Nova Southeastern, Penn State, Rutgers, Samford, Stetson (No. 86) and Wofford.
The 54-hole tournament begins with opening round play at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Second round play tees off at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with Sunday's final round scheduled for a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ECU will tee-off of beginning at 9:15 a.m.
