
Pirates Tied For Eighth After 18 Holes

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team opened up the 2009 fall season firing a first round score of 320 and currently sits in a tie for eighth place after 18 holes at the 38th Lady Paladin Invitational Friday afternoon. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,200-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
East Tennessee State and Nova Southeastern, 2008 Division II Champion, are tied for first with rounds of 306. Rounding out the top five are Stetson (311), Kennesaw State (314) and Campbell (316).
At the conclusion of day one, three Pirates were tied for 20th after posting rounds of 78. Junior's Amber Littman (39-39) and Colleen Estes (39-39) each recorded 12 pars, while freshman Meghan Moore (38-40) registered a pair of birdies to go with 11 pars.
Abby Bools (39-43=82) and Amy Otteson (38-44=82) are both tied for 51st with Ana Maria Puche (42-45=87) rounding out first round action sitting in a tie for 86th.
ETSU's Laura Jansone sits atop the individual leader board after firing an opening round of 73 and holds a one-shot advantage over Paula Hurtado (Florida International).
Second round tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m.
