GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team carded a tournament-low 289 during final round action to take second place at the 2010 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. The event was being played at the par-71, 6,040-yard Greenville Country Club.
ECU (31-7-1) finished second in the event for the third year in a row, falling to Maryland (876) by five strokes. Augusta State (887) took third, while Penn (890) and UNC Wilmington (893) rounded out the top-five.

The freshman from Austria led the 93 player field with 14 birdies, including six during her final round. Amber Littman (219), who carded the Pirates' low round of the day with a one-under 70, finished seventh after registering four of her eight birdies in the final 18 holes.
Junior Amy Otteson (220) also recorded a top-10 finish with her one-over 72, which was good enough for a share of eighth. Otteson ranked fourth in the event with 10 birdies and carded 37 total pars. Colleen Estes took a share of 37th with a 54-hole score of 230, while Julia Strandberg (233) finished tied for 54th.
Faith Hardison (221), who had a two-stroke lead after the first 36-holes, struggled Tuesday posting a nine-over 80 finishing in a tie for 10th. Joining Hardison as an individual was true freshman Andrea Estes who finished tied for 89th in her first collegiate tournament with a 255.
Christine Shimel (Maryland) took home top medalist honors after recording the third-lowest score in tournament history, a one-under 212. Joining Shimel and Wolte on the all-tournament squad were Natalie Wille (Augusta State/216), Jessie Hollandsworth (Maryland/217), Samantha Morrell (ODU/217) and Marissa Steen (Memphis/217).
