
Bools Named C-USA Golfer-of-the-Week

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina senior golfer Abby Bools has been named Conference USA Women's Golfer-of-the-Week after finishing fourth at the 2010 Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic. This marks her seventh career Golfer-of-the-Week honor and second of the season.
The Hickory, N.C. native carded a two-over par 218 (71-75-72) and helped the Pirates (67-41-1) to a share of fourth place, their third consecutive Top 4 placement of the season. Bools tallied her 12th career top-five finish at this week's event and improved her 18-hole average 74.53, which ranks as the second-lowest single-season stroke average in school history.
During the event, Bools ranked among the tournament leaders in par-4 scoring (4.11/t-8th), par-5 scoring (4.77/t-4th) and birdies (10/t-6th). In all she fired 10 birdies and pared 33 holes. Bools has competed in 38 career events where she has a 75.69 career stroke average, third-lowest in school history and has recorded 26 Top 20 placements.
