Bools Takes Third At JMU/Eagle Landing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - East Carolina junior Abby Bools carded a final round one-over par 73 to finish in third place at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invite with a tournament score of 220. The event was being held at the par-72, 6,282-yard Eagle Landing Golf Club.
Bools, who picked up her third Top 5 finish of the season and 13th of her career, had one birdie on the day at hole 17, while recording bogeys on No. 3 and No. 16. Sophomore Amy Otteson finished in a tie for 19th with a three-day cumulative score of 228 for her second career Top 20 finish.
Ana Maria Puche (234) fired a five-over par 77 to finish in a tie for 50th, while Amber Littman (235) tied for 56th place and Colleen Estes (239) finished 70th.
East Carolina posted the third-lowest team total (301) of the final round to move from ninth-place to a share of fifth. The Pirates finished the event with a three-day score of 915 (311-303-301).
USF carded a tournament score of 898 to take home the team title finishing six strokes ahead of second-place Illinois (904), while Central Arkansas (906) took third and Kennesaw State (907) was fourth. Sharing fifth place with the Pirates was Stetson University.
Hailey Koschmann (Illinois) took home medalist honors posting the only score under par at 214. Emma de Groot (Chattanooga) finished three shots behind Koschmann at 217, while Bools was three strokes behing Groot.
The Pirates will be back on the course on March 22-23 when they participate in the Pinehurst Challenge hosted by the College of Charleston.
