
Bools In Second After First Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Abby Bools carded and even round par 72 during first round action at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational on Sunday and is currently tied for second place. The three-day, 54-hole event is being played at the par-72, 6,282-yard the Eagle Landing Country Club at Oakley Plantation.
Bools birdied two of the first three holes to start the event with a two-under par before posting a double-bogey on No. 17 to finish three strokes behind tournament leader Hailey Koschmann (Illinois), who posted an opening round 69. Sharing second place with Bools is Jacksonville's Jessica Williams, while Abby Fitzgerald (Kennesaw State), Shena Yang (USF) and Sara Hillman (Central Arkansas) are tied for fourth with opening round of 73.
Amy Otteson opened tournament play with a six over 78 and is tied for sixth place, while Colleen Estes is two shots back in a tie for 49th. Rounding out the Pirates roster are Ana Maria Puche (t59/81) and Amber Littman (t68/82).
As a team the Pirates are in seventh place with an opening round score of 311 and are just eight strokes out of second place. Central Arkansas leads after 18 holes with an 11-over par 299, while USF is second (303) and Kennesaw State is third (304).
Second round action is currently under way with the Pirates teeing off on the front nine.
