Bools Takes Fifth At ECU Tri-Match

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Senior Abby Bools shot a five-over par 148 to finish in fifth place in a tri-match featuring East Carolina, No. 17 Virginia and No. 26 North Carolina. The three schools played at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville N.C., the site of a 2010 NCAA Regional Championship.
Bools, who recorded her fourth Top-5 finish of the season, led the field in par-3 scoring with a 2.88 average, while carding 27 birdies. Amy Otteson finished 11th with a 36-hole score of 151 and Ana Maria Puche took 13th with a score of 153.
Rounding out the Pirates roster was Amber Littman and Colleen Estes who finished tied for 14th with a score of 156. Freshman Meghan Moore participated as an individual and finished tied for 17th, 150.
Virginia shot 6-over 582 to win by 16 shots. North Carolina was second at 598 and the Pirates finished third at 604. The Pirates posted rounds of 304 and 300 for a 36-hole score of 604.
The Pirates will be back in action on April 18 when the travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to participate in the 2010 Conference USA Championships.
