
Second Round Play At UNCG Startmount Washed Out

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Second round action at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic has been washed out due to heavy rains and will resume with the final 18 holes Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. with a shot gun start, weather permitting.
East Carolina closed out day one with a 22-over par 310 and sits in a tie for sixth place with Stetson University. N.C. State and Maryland share the lead in the team portion after 18 holes with a score of 302, 14-over par. Western Carolina (305) is all alone in third, while East Tennessee State and Penn State are six strokes back of the leaders at 308.
Senior Amber Littman is tied for 12th place heading into final round play after an opening round 75 (37-38), three-over par, which included a pair of birdies in the first five holes. True freshman Fanny Wolte opened her collegiate career for the Pirates with a five-over par 77 (40-37) registering 11 pars and one birdie coming on No. 16 and is tied for 17th.
Amy Otteson (37-41=78) is one shot behind Wolte sitting in tie for 32nd place. Redshirt freshman Faith Hardison (40-40-80) is tied for 43rd place in her first collegiate event, while senior Colleen Estes (40-43=83) holds a share of 66th place. Junior Julia Strandberg, who is participating in the event as an individual for the Pirates, is tied for 43rd after an opening round score of 80 (40-40). The Greensboro, N.C. native birdied three holes and recorded six pars.
