
Pirates In Third At JMU Eagle Invitational

ORLANDO PARK, Fla. -The East Carolina women's golf team carded an opening round of 304 (16-over) and currently sit in third place at the JMU Eagle Landing Invite. The 54-hole event is being held at the Eagle Landing Golf Club.
The Pirates (64-32-2) are playing their second tournament of the week following their team tournament title at the Barefoot Beach Challenge on Tuesday. Senior Colleen Estes continues to play well as she is currently tied for sixth after a one-over 73 (38-35) and sits three shots off the lead.
Junior Amy Otteson (37-38) and freshman Fanny Wotle (39-36) are tied for 13th after opening rounds of 75 (three-over). Senior Amber Littman is tied for 68th (81), while freshman Sarah Almond is tied for 84th (83). Playing as an individual for the Pirates is Julia Strandberg, who is tied for 88th (85).
Thirty-fourth ranked Chattanooga leads the event with an eight-over 296 and holds a seven-shot lead over second-place Stetson (303). Maryland and Florida Gulf Coast are tied four fourth, just one shot behind ECU.
Florida Gulf Coast's Briana Carlson leads the tournament with a two-under 70, while Courtney Taylor (UNCG) and Mallory Viera (Stetson) are tied for second with rounds of 71.
