
Women's Cross Country Season Ends at NCAA Southeast Regional

EARLYSVILLE, Va. - In what was ultimately its final race of the season, the East Carolina women's cross country team recorded a 17th-place finish at the 2013 NCAA Southeast Regional Friday afternoon at Panorama Farms.
Senior Chelsea Hollingsworth was the Pirates' top finisher in the 6K race, turning in a season-best time of 22:07 to finish in 69th place. The mark was just six seconds behind the team's top 6K mark of 22:01, recorded by Brooke Kott at Lehigh's Paul Short Run on Oct. 6.
Redshirt junior Stefanie Fresenius also recorded her best 6K time of the season to secure ECU's only other top-100 finish, crossing the finish line with a time of 22:18.8 which was good for 86th place. Kott, a First Team All-Conference USA performer just two weeks ago, finished in 102nd place with a mark of 22:33.3.
Virginia won the meet with 57 points, followed by William & Mary in second with 69, NC State in third with 142, Duke in fourth with 143, and Virginia Tech rounded out the top five with 157.
