GREENVILLE, N.C. - Following a three-week hiatus between meets, the East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams will compete for the second time in 2014 on Friday, Sept. 19 at NC State's Wolfpack Invitational in Cary, N.C.
Both men's and women's races will be 5K distances, as the men start at 5:30 p.m., before the women at 6 p.m. The meet will be held at the WakeMed Cross Country Course.
The Pirates opened the season Aug. 29 at the Covered Bridge Invitational in Boone, N.C., where the women's team placed five runners among the top 40 en route to a fourth place finish. Sophomore transfer Caroline Reiser led the way with a 14th-place showing and time of 19:30.54 in the 5K race, while redshirt senior Chase Miller was the top finisher on the men's side, claiming 34th place in the 6,400-meter event.
