
Cross Country Completes Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams completed their final tune-ups before the American Conference Championships by competing at the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday evening.
Junior Caroline Reiser had another strong showing with a 10th place finish among all runners with a time of 21:56.61, just two weeks after notching a new personal best at the Paul Short Invitational. Grace Sullivan turned in a top-25 performance of her own with 22:32.74 mark.
Richmond won the meet with 53 points, followed by Appalachian State in second with 70 points and Wake Forest in third with 86. Elon was fourth with 110 points, followed by Charlotte in fifth (135) and High Point in sixth (138). ECU compiled 164 points, edging out George Mason (170) to round out the top eight of 17 teams.
On the men's side, Jorge Montes was the Pirates' top finisher in 31s place with a 25:46.17 time, followed by Pol Solanelles in 59th with a time of 26:17.61.
George Mason took top honors with 68 team points, followed by Charlotte (87), Appalachian State (94), Wake Forest (112) and Furman (135) to round out the top five. ECU compiled 242 points to take 10th out of 18 total teams.
East Carolina will host the 2015 American Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Overton's Lake Kristi.
