
Cross Country Set for NCAA Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina men's and women's cross country squads will head to Earlysville, Va., Friday for the 2015 NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Virginia at Panorama Farms.
The men will run a 10K while the women's race will be a 6K. The women will run first at Noon with the men to follow at 1 p.m.
The Pirate women turned in a 27th-place showing in last year's regional. Then junior Shewit Weldense was the top ECU finisher, crossing the finish line in 22:25.8.
East Carolina most recently hosted and competed in the American Athletic Conference Championship at Lake Kristi where the women finished fourth and the men seventh. Redshirt junior Jorge Montes and junior Caroline Reiser earned all-conference accolades thanks to respective 14th and 15th-place results. Reiser set a personal best by finishing the 6K race in 21:09.16.
The top two teams from the regional will automatically advance to the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships scheduled for Nov. 21 in Louisville, Ky.
