Pirates Finish Fourth At River Landing Classic

WALLACE, N.C. --- The East Carolina women's golf team wrapped up its regular season Sunday, finishing tied for fourth at the River Landing Classic at River Landing. The Pirates tallied a 54-hole score of 904 to finish 18 strokes behind team champion Columbia in their final tune up before the American Athletic Conference Championships.
Nicoline Engstroem Skaug led the Pirates with a 9-over-par score of 225 that included a third round 77 Sunday to finish 11th individually. Katie Kirk and Frida Gustafsson Spang tied for 14th at 10-over-par 226. Spang posted her best round of the tournament Sunday with a 2-under-par 70. Lisa Pettersson shot par-72 in the final round to move ahead 19 spots in the final standings, tied for 21st at 12-over-par 228 to round out the scoring.
Columbia's Jacqueline Chulya won individual medalist honors with a three round score of par-216. She carded a 3-under 69 Sunday to come from four strokes back after round two.
ECU will compete in the American Athletic Conference Championships April 19-21 at Hammock Beach Golf and Spa Resort, in Palm Coast, Fla.
