
ECU Opens Spring Schedule At UCF Challenge

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina women's golf team will open the 2016 Spring portion of its schedule Sunday, Feb. 7 participating in the UCF Challenge. The three-day event is being held at the par-72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
The Pirates, who completed the fall with a 51-7 record and are ranked No. 36 by Golfstat, will be joined in the 18-team field by (16) Iowa State, (25) Missouri, (29) Miami, (31) Vanderbilt, (39) Texas, (42) Houston, (46) Campbell, (53) Augusta, (56) Minnesota, (62) Mississippi State, (63) UCF, (71) Tulane, (83) Wisconsin, (103) Kentucky, (116) USF, (146) Western Carolina and Daytona State.
ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams will use a lineup consisting of seniors Frida Gustafsson Spang and Nicoline Engstroem Skaug, sophomore Lisa Pettersson and freshmen Catherine Ashworth and Kate Law.
The 54-hole tournament begins with an 8:30 a.m. start and will be followed with 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday. Pirate fans can get updated scoring on www.Golfstat.com.
