GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women's golf team is set to host the 2016 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C. on Sept. 26-27 at the par-72, 6,012-yard Greenville Country Club.
The Pirates, who won the event last year, are joined in the 18-team field by Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, Elon, Fairleigh Dickinson, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Marshall, NcNeese State, Morehead State, Presbyterian College, Southern Miss, Towson, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Winthrop.
Since the event began in 2000, the Pirates have claimed four titles (2000-02, 2015), finished second four times (2003, 2008-10) and third on three occasions (2004, 2011, 2013).
East Carolina will use a line-up consisting of Lisa Pettersson (first hole), Kate Law (first hole), Carley Cox (second hole), Catherine Ashworth (second hole) and Dorthea Forbrigd (third hole). Siranon Shoomee and Grace Yatawara are playing as individuals and will be teeing off from the ninth and 10th holes.
The two-day, 54-hole event will have 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. on both days. Pirate fans can catch all the live action by logging onto www.Golfstat.com.
