NAPA, Calif. ā East Carolina freshman Dorthea Forbrigd and junior Lisa Pettersson both carded opening rounds of 74 (2-over par) and are currently tied for 31st at the 2017 Silverado Showdown. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held at the par-72, 6,176-yard Silverado Resort and Spa.
Forbrigd recorded birdies on the eighth, 15th and 16th holes during first round action to go along with three bogeys, one double-bogey and 11 pars. Pettersson also registered three birdies (sixth, ninth and 15 holes) with three bogeys, a triple-bogey and 12 pars.
Rounding out the Pirates roster were sophomore Kate Law (t39/75), freshman Siranon Shoomee (t87/83) and sophomore Carley Cox (t87/83).
Third-ranked Stanford leads the event after posting a five-under par 283 and holds a one-shot advantage over No. 6 UCLA (4-under/284). Rounding out the top five are No. 48 Oregon (2-over/290) and No. 33 Colorado (2-over/290) in a tie for third and No. 13 Northwestern (3-over/291). ECU is currently 17th following its opening round 306 (18-over par).
