
Pirates Post Top 20 Team Finishes At NCAA Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU cross country program wrapped up its 2018 season Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regional.

The Pirate men ended up in 16th place out of 33 participating teams while the women captured 18th place – also in a 33-team field.

Nick Ciaccia was the top runner on the men's side, finishing 54th with a 10K time of 31:21 – the sixth-fastest time in program history. Alex Boseman was next for ECU in 70th place, crossing the finish line in 31:46, while Ethan Hageman was close behind in 72nd also running a time of 31:46. Dean Abushouk rounded out the top 100 finishers for the Pirates as he claimed 91st place at 32:03.

For the women, Anna Bristle was the top ECU performer, snagging 48th place with a personal-best time of 21:09. She is now tied for the sixth-fastest time in school history in the 6K. Mikayla Stoudt placed 96th with a time of 21:47 while Abby Yourkavitch ended up just outside of the top 100 in 101st place. She crossed the finish line in 21:51.

NC State and Furman earned automatic qualification to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on the women's side while NC State and Eastern Kentucky secured the men's berths.
