Dallas, Tex. --- The ECU Women's tennis team fell in a pair of American Athletic Conference matches in the lone star state. The Pirates took on Houston on Friday and fell 4-2. Saturday afternoon, SMU defeated ECU 5-0.

ECU secured two points at the Winston Tennis Facility in Houston on Friday. No. 59 Celia Ruiz defeated the Cougar's No. 1 Tsveta Dimitrova, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6. At the No. 5 position Alisa Diercksen knocked off Constanden Nicolaou, 7-5, 7-5.

At SMU on Saturday, Lisa Hofbauer and Annija Veinsteina battled in singles play, but would not finish their respective matches.
