CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The ECU women's golfing quartet of Carley Cox, Dorthea Forbrigd, Kate Law and Lisa Pettersson have been named 2017-18 Division I All-American Scholars according to an announcement by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Â
With Cox (twice), Forbrigd (twice), Law (three times) and Pettersson (four times) selections, it marks the 14th-straight year that at least two Pirates have been named All-America Scholars in the same year (2005-present). In mid-April, the Pirates took home their third-straight American Athletic Conference Team Academic Award after posting a 3.839 cumulative GPA.Â
Â
"We are fortunate to have a team full of highly-motivated students and athletes," said ECU Head Coach Kevin Williams. "They understand the expectations our program has for them in the classroom, in practice and in competition. I'm very proud of Lisa, Kate, Carley and Dorthea for their efforts in exceeding the criteria set for the WGCA All-American Scholars Team. I can't say enough good things about the commitment and dedication these young women gave to our program this year. It's very exciting to see their hard work rewarded."
Â
