Pirate Lacrosse Signs Six For 2021 Season

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The ECU women's lacrosse team has added six student-athletes for the 2021 season, as announced by head coach Amanda Moore on Wednesday.
"I'm extremely excited to welcome our fourth ever recruiting class," Moore said. "This group of talented young women will mark the last of the first cycle of recruiting for our program and we are extremely excited to welcome this bookend group. They have been passionate and dedicated in their pursuit of lacrosse at the next level and we can't wait to get them on campus with us this fall!"
Regina Di Chiara
Regina Di Chiara is a four-year letterwinner under head coach Kristin Susko at Plainedge High School. Di Chiara, an attacker, has been the top offensive threat for the Red Devils in her first three high school campaigns, racking up 148 goals and 28 assists for 176 points. She was named the team's offensive MVP following her freshman and sophomore campaigns as well as the team MVP in her junior season. Di Chiara has also earned All-County honors following her sophomore and junior seasons while being an All-County Honorable Mention selection after her freshman season. She is also a standout on the volleyball and basketball courts, including being named to the All-Conference team in volleyball this fall.
Alexandra Giacolone
Alexandra Giacolone is a four-year letterwinner under head coach Rebecca Thorn at Eastport South Manor High School. Giacolone is a defender who has helped the Sharks win County Championships each of her first three seasons on the team. Her junior campaign was her best so far, leading Eastport South to a State Championship and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team for Suffolk County and the All-State Tournament team as well as being named All-County. Giacolone was the team's unsung hero in 2018 during her sophomore year. Along with playing lacrosse, Giacolone lettered in both basketball and soccer as well as taking part in National Honors Society and World Language Honor Society.
Summer Morrison
Summer Morrison is a four-year letterwinner under head coach Rebecca Groves at Century High School. During her three years playing for the Knights, Morrison has helped Century to a 48-11 record with a chance to add even more victories during her upcoming senior season. Morrison helped lead the Knights to the 2017 Maryland State Championship, earning Second-Team All-County honors in the process. She has also helped Century win regional championships in 2017 and 2018, county championships in 2017 and 2019, and Catonsville Tournament titles in 2018 and 2019. Along with her play on the lacrosse field, Morrison has earned all-county honors in both soccer and indoor lacrosse during her time at Century.
Courtney Frank
Courtney Frank is a four-year letterwinner under head coach Faye Brust at C. Milton Wright High School. Frank is a midfielder that has helped the Mustangs win regional championships and reach the Maryland State Championship final in both 2017 and 2019. She will serve as team captain in her upcoming senior campaign. She has also competed in soccer, cross country and basketball for C. Milton Wright, serving as a team captain for the basketball squad as well.
Carli Johnston
Carli Johnston is a four-year letterwinner under head coach Keith Broome at Springfield High School. Johnston plays on the Cougars' defense where she has helped Springfield win the 2019 Pennsylvania State Championship, earning All-Delco and All-Central League Honorable Mention honors for her performances. She has helped Springfield finish as the District 3A Runner-Ups during both her freshman and junior seasons, as well as state runner-ups in her freshman campaign. She was also named to the Philly National Tournament team in 2018. Along with her accomplishments on the lacrosse field, Johnston is a four-year letterwinner in both basketball and soccer, serving as team captain for both squads.

Madeleine Saucier
Madeleine Saucier comes to Greenville after three seasons lettering at The Woodlands High School under head coach Amy Markwort. Saucier serves as a team captain in her senior year, her third straight season as a starter. After her junior year, she finished as the team's co-leader in points and was awarded the Woodlands' Girls' Lacrosse Determination Award as well as being named to the Adrenaline All-American Watchlist. In 2017, she was an All-District selection and in her freshman campaign, she was named to the Central Texas National Tournament team. Off the field, she is in the National Honors Society, the Science National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society.
The Pirates will start their 2020 campaign on Friday, Feb. 7 at Furman.
