GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team welcomes Connecticut to the ECU Softball Stadium this weekend for the Pirates' final American Athletic Conference home series of the campaign.

East Carolina University faculty and staff will receive $2 admission for all three games of the series with a valid ECU OneCard. ECU will also honor its two seniors Morgan Halo and Ashley Weingartz after Sunday's series finale.Â

The Pirates dropped a 4-1 non-conference decision at Duke Tuesday, entering the weekend with a 21-26 overall record and a 3-12 mark in AAC play. ECU is 8-11 at home this season.

Tyler King paces the club in batting average (.520), hits (54), doubles (9) and stolen bases (15) while Rachel McCollum owns team-best marks in RBI (37), total bases (69) and slugging percentage (.511). Erin Poepping is five innings away from 200 in the circle and she is 14-16 with a 3.20 earned run average and 149 strikeouts.

Scouting Connecticut
The Huskies were swept by USF in their most recent weekend of competition, falling to 16-27 overall and 4-11 in AAC play. After beginning the league schedule with a 4-4 record, Connecticut has lost seven-straight conference contests. Briana Marcelino leads the team with a .386 batting average as well as nine doubles, eight home runs and a .611 slugging percentage. Marybeth Olson has thrown the most of any pitcher on staff, sporting a 10-12 record, 2.10 ERA and 140 strikeouts in 126.2 innings.

East Carolina leads the series with Connecticut 9-3 and has swept the Huskies each of the last two seasons.
