GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina lacrosse team will open American Athletic Conference play as they travel travel to Norfolk, Va. Saturday to face the Old Dominion Monarchs. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m. at L.R. Hill Sports Complex.

Last Time Out
The Pirates used a 10-2 middle two quarters to run past Elon in their last outing. The team was clinical finishing on the day with 16 goals on 17 shots on goal. Frances Kimel finally bested her career high and matched the program record with eight points on the day on four goals and four assists.

Scouting the Monarchs
Old Dominion started off well with wins over Elon and Radford but has faltered since then, dropping five of their last six including a close call, 9-8, against Furman and a blowout loss to No. 25 Richmond, 20-7. The Monarchs spread the love in scoring with Sydney Taylor leading the way with 22 points while Caroline Shaefer has accumulated 25 draw controls and Maria Rekus has 17 caused turnovers.

The Pirates and Monarchs have played four times, splitting the meetings with the most recent game coming in April of last season, a 14-11 ECU victory. Megan Tryniski led the Pirates on the day with five goals and an assist.
