
ECU Falls To North Texas 4-1 At AAC Championship

DALLAS, Texas – East Carolina's 2024 dual season came to a close Wednesday with a 4-1 loss to North Texas in the first round of the American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
The Pirates put together an 11-8 record, marking the first winning campaign for ECU since it went 22-3 in 2019.
Martina Muzzolon and Kexuan Zhou gave the Pirates a brief advantage in doubles with a 6-3 win on court two, but the Mean Green emerged victorious on courts one and three to win the doubles point and seize early control of the match.
Ines Bachir was the lone singles winner for East Carolina as she knocked off Olivia Malm 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. North Texas secured victories on courts two, five and six to advance to Thursday's quarterfinal round.
