Nash Named AAC Golfer Of The Week

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina freshman Nicole Nash has been named the American Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week according to an announcement by the league office on Thursday.

Nash carded a team-best score of 214 (2-under) to earn medalist honors at the Ironwood Invitational earlier this week that Pirates also claimed team honors at with a final score of 885 (21-over). She opened the tournament with a 70 (2-under) which was her second-best round this season as a Pirate. Nash followed up her stellar first round by carding rounds of 73 (1-over) and 71 (1-under) to finish first.

She becomes the first Pirate women's golfer to earn weekly AAC honors since former Pirate and current assistant coach Kathryn Carson did so back in 2022.

"We are very proud of Nicole!" director of golf Kevin Williams said. "She has worked really hard on her game and it is so rewarding to see that hard work pay off. Winning a college golf tournament is tough and to do it your freshman year makes it more special."

Nash and the Pirates will travel to Brooksville, Fla. to compete in the AAC Championship Apr. 15-17.
